What We Do
At ITD we set the scene for profound inter-cultural experiences. Our work brings together professionals and/or students from around the world to share cultures, exchange ideas, deepen understanding, and spread knowledge. The programs we offer include a wide range of topics: from developing civic education curricula to exploring minority integration in the West, from promoting indigenous visual arts to studying US culture and democracy. With their new-found knowledge and their experience of dynamic engagement, our participants return to their countries enriched by their exchange, and re-charged by new and challenging ideas. In their own words it is "an experience of a lifetime."

ITD's Executive Director, Mark Protti, will be participating in a fundraising biking trip to benefit the Epilepsy foundation's Sudden Unexpected Death from the Epilepsy Institute (SUDEP). He will be one of the eight core riders of the trip. The riders will do a ceremonial dip of their bicycles' rear wheels in Puget Sound, about 80 miles north of Seattle. Then they will head through the Cascade Mountains into northern Idaho and through Glacier National Park, across Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They will ferry across Lake Michigan through Michigan, along the north shore of Lake Erie in Ontario before crossing back into this country at Niagara Falls and along the Erie Canal Bike Path. Once across Massachusetts, a ceremony will be held in Boston to dip their front bicycle wheels into the Atlantic ocean. There will be a total of 20 planned cyclists who plan to camp, stop at hostels, churches, and motels along their trip. To read the full article about the trip please click here, and to make a donation or sign up to be a "virtual athlete" for this trip, you may visit the team page at Gear Up for Epilepsy! here.
ITD strongly supports Mark with his participation in this lifetime event, and we are both proud of him, as well as, inspired by his dedication to this cause. Please feel free to visit and follow the team through their blog page or their facebook page.
